Romina Cenisio is a New York-based film director and art director known for her ability to capture visually striking stories with authenticity and depth. She works from a wide range of experience and is able to adapt her background to the needs of each individual project, allowing her to approach subjects through a fresh perspective while visualizing a cohesive landscape from start to finish.
She has worked with brands and talent such as Claire’s, Victoria’s Secret, Savage X Fenty, NatGeo, Soho House, Rihanna, and Luar to name a few.
In 2025, her short film Red Sands won Best Short Film at EPFF, Best Short Documentary at DIFF, and Best Short Documentary at HSDFF, making it an Oscar-qualifying film and securing distribution with PBS, coming June 2026. Her reported writing has been featured in Atlas Obscura, Atmos, Beyond Noise and Soho House Health Club.
Drawn to the edges of culture and ecology, she brings a rigorous visual flair to stories rooted in identity and belonging—and what it takes to preserve them. As the daughter of working-class immigrants from Southern Italy who became factory workers on the U.S.–Mexico border, her tri-cultural vantage point informs her intimate approach and steady commitment to documenting intricate stories.
